Tecnopolis Enterprises is pleased to offer a repair service for Atari ST mouse button switches. Working Atari ST mice are becoming increasingly rare and many people are finding their mice are becoming unreliable. The biggest problem is the buttons' click action starts to deteriorate. You may find it hard to single or double-click without trying multiple times and/or applying excessive pressure. The problem is the internal button switch mechanisms are only rated for so many clicks.

Luckily, the problem can be fixed and your mouse button performance made as good as new. What you need is for the switches to be replaced. We have sourced out brand new, high-end name-brand switches that are identical to the original ones.

We offer two options:

  1. Mail your mouse to us and we will replace both button switches, clean the mouse, test it, and mail it back to you. The price for this service including return (1-way) shipping to your location is $25 US$ for those in the USA, $30 CN$ for those in Canada, and $30 US$ for all other countries. Canadians must pay GST (and PST in Manitoba).
  2. Or, if you are good with electronics and soldering, we can sell you the 2 brand new switches you need for the repair for $10 US$ including freight. This saves you the difficulty of tracking down which switches you need out of the thousands of different ones available and makes sure you get the ones with the right specs.

Bulk discounts are available if you have more than one mouse that needs repair. Email for details.

We currently only offer repair of the button mechanisms. If your mouse is exhibiting movement problems, then the opto-mechanical parts may be the problem. We are currently not equipped to deal with that problem. However, we may offer this in the future if demand warrants. Send us an email.

The switches we have are (probably) only for the original Atari ST "STM1" mouse. If you have a third party vendor mouse (like Golden Image, etc), then the switch parts may be different. We still may be able to help you, but we'd have to examine the situation on a case by case basis. Please send an email.
