As predicted, LCD monitor prices keep crashing down. 17" LCD monitors are
now cheaper than they've ever been. Rumour has it prices will rise in 4Q
(ie: November-ish), so if you've been thinking about an LCD, now's the
time to buy one.

My best priced 17" is $447 for an Acer 17" with built-in speakers, 450:1
contrast, 1280x1024 resolution, available in black or beige colour to fit
your decor. This is a brand new unit. It is not a refurbished unit as
many of the specials at big-box stores are, nor does it require you to
play the rebate hassle game.

Note, most inexpensive LCD's (including this Acer for $447) use analog
inputs. If you want the best picture quality you need an LCD with digital
DVI inputs and a video card with DVI output. DVI LCD's are also getting
cheaper, with a 19" LG available for $824, for instance. Give me a shout
if you want some more DVI pricing.
